What is Lessons In Logic

The objective of Lessons in Logic is to primarily show how to use complex trading software to assist you in improving your trading returns. The site is run by Craig B, A data and software specialist with over 30 years experience. The owner does not claim to be a professional trader or sports bettor. All training and decision making is done with data at the forefront of all assumptions. The Lessons in Logic YouTube channel was created in December 2023 and mainly focuses on the amazing CGMBet data analysis tool. More recently, we have also introduced our own software that either works with CGMBet data or works independently of it.

Who is Craig B

As previously mentioned, Craig B is a data and software specialist. Craig started trading in 2020 during the COVID pandemic. “It was always something that fascinated me, but the Betfair website always looked daunting”, Craig commented. He was originally introduced to Betfair through matched betting. When the offers dried up, he turned his hand to trading. Within the first six months, he had already gone through several small banks. “The YouTube videos were making trading look so easy and I was failing”, he continues. “Something wasn’t adding up”. Craig joined the Trading the Market (TTM) Discord server after watching several of their videos. Whilst never actually following any of their videos to the letter, certain trading ideas were being developed on the back of ideas learnt here. It was during his time at TTM that Craig won a copy of CGMBet in a competition. “Originally I didn’t have a clue what I was doing with the software.”, laughed Craig. Only after hours of research and watching limited YouTube videos, the penny dropped and then Craig suddenly realised what was possible with CGMBet. Craig became a moderator at TTM in December 2023, a position he would hold until July 2024 when TTM “closed” their Discord server. Once this server closed, Craig assisted CGMBet developer Mihai in setting up a CGMBet Discord server to fill the void left by the TTM closure. The new server hit the ground running and was an instant success. When TTM relaunched their Discord server in September 2024, Craig was removed from the server. This move actually served both parties well. It allowed TTM to promote their own software without Craig having a conflict of interest by championing a rival product.

This move confirmed to Craig that his brand was strong and what had started out as a YouTube channel, intending to make a couple of videos, had grown far bigger than expected. Craig officially partnered with CGMBet in September 2024 and can now offer new customers significant discounts on the list price of this product. Craig also used his vast software experience to create several impressive products. Initially a Power BI dashboard was created using CGMBet data but it wasn’t until early 2025 when the real quality software appeared. Firstly the Betfair Data Viewer which was quickly recoded and launched as the Market Data Viewer was released, quickly followed by the Lessons in Logic Soccer Simulator. These products drew plaudits from those who used them with others constantly asking how they could get a copy. Recently the Market Data Viewer has had an update to do even more powerful operations based on trends with Betfair Historical odds. All of these products are free to confirmed CGMBet customers.

Why is all this amazing software given away for free?

To help people

If I had not won my copy of CGMBet, none of this would have happened. It was a case of being in the right place at the right time. The driving factor is to get more people using CGMBet. It is easily the best tool in its sector but probably one of the least marketed. The developer doesn’t have time to make regular YouTube videos, he’s too busy improving the software. This is where Lessons in Logic lends a helping hand. The software is designed to help people with their trading. Too many people want to sell things that are not useful and we want to buck that trend

To build community

The CGMBet community are a great bunch of people. Everyone helps everyone. Many have helped me so it wouldn’t feel right to charge these people for software that they may not get the full use out of. I know my work is appreciated and with feedback from the CGMBet community, the software will only get better

To prevent full support

Time has always been an issue for me. If I was to charge for the software, I would need to provide top quality support. I don’t have the time to do this. By giving the software away for free, it means I can release fixes and updates when I can fit them in, with no obligation to do so.

If you would like to contribute to the upkeep of Lessons In Logic, you can donate any amount you feel is appropriate here.

Sometimes you are critical of other content creators, why is this?

Put simply, passion. Lessons in Logic was originally created to produce training videos. As the CGMBet software developed alongside my own competencies, I began to spot statements and sections in other videos which didn’t stack up. I’m not out to deliberately get under anyone’s skin. I respect all content creators. It’s a hard job and they all put a lot of time and effort into what they do. But I also think that, as I’m analytical, it is my duty to point out any inconsistency to viewers so that they aren’t having the wool pulled over their eyes. There have been many videos of mine which I’ve watched back and thought “am I being too harsh there?”. I know I’ve ruffled feathers on more than one occasion but I’d like to think the quality of trading videos has improved since Lessons in Logic was formed. None of my criticism is personal and I hope people can see this.
