Unleash the Power – CGMBet and Power BI
The Power BI project was the first software offering from Lessons in Logic. This took every single field from the CGMBet data and turned it into complex data models. This would unleash the power of the world’s leading business intelligence software. Whilst we created a mock-up of some screens, this was very much a proof of concept project.
The main, and hardest part was to model the data in a way that would give the user the best chance of achieving what they needed from the graphical aspect of Power BI. We succeeded with this. The data is structured in such a way that experienced Power BI users can now graphically analyse a match looking at either home data, away data or a combination of both. The can check a team’s performance against all or a selection of opponents over a season or a selection of weeks. This can be done for any season.
The Power BI project may get resurrected but as the design and layout of the dashboards is personal preference, it is probably best to leave this to individuals to have some fun with.
As Power BI requires installation and some basic data skills, I developed the Football Analysis Tool as an intermediate approach. This gives basic graphs and charts but requires no install and no technical skills.
If you want access to the Power BI pbix file which has done all the hard work for you, you will need to be a CGMBet customer. As a supporter of Lessons in Logic, you automatically qualify for a substantial discount off CGMBet. Go to the CGMBet website to redeem this offer.
If you find you are enjoying the software and would like to contribute to future developments or the upkeep of this site, you can always donate but this is totally voluntary.
